Who we are

Tarot Energy is an AI-powered tarot reading and self-reflection tool. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us via our contact page at tarotenergy.app/contact.

What data we collect

When you use Tarot Energy as a guest: a temporary session identifier stored in your browser to track your reading usage within a session; the cards drawn and spread type for each reading, not linked to any personal identity.

When you create a free or premium account: your email address; your account preferences including deck style and interpretation depth; all readings you draw including the question asked, cards drawn, spread type, and AI-generated interpretation; journal notes and reflections you write on readings; reading patterns derived from your card draw history; feedback and support messages you submit.

When you subscribe to Premium or purchase bolt-on credits: payment is processed entirely by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your card number, expiry date, or CVV. We receive only a confirmation of payment and your email address from the payment processor.

Automatically collected: basic usage data such as pages visited and features used, for product improvement; your browser timezone, used to display correct local dates on readings and the Card of the Day.

How we use your data

We use your data to: provide and improve the Tarot Energy service; generate AI-powered tarot interpretations personalised to your question and cards drawn; track reading patterns and surface insights across your reading history (premium feature); send transactional emails including account verification, password reset, and waitlist notifications; respond to support and feedback requests; comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

AI and your readings

Your reading questions, card draws, and context are sent to Anthropic (the maker of Claude AI) to generate interpretations. Anthropic processes this data as a sub-processor under their API terms. We recommend not including sensitive personal information such as full names, identification numbers, or financial details in your reading questions.

Data sharing

We share your data only with: Anthropic to generate AI interpretations of your readings; our payment processor to process subscription and bolt-on purchases; Loops.so — your email address if you join our waitlist, to send launch notifications; Supabase, our database and infrastructure provider where your data is stored. All sub-processors are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted immediately for free accounts, or at the end of your current paid billing period for premium accounts. Anonymised non-identifiable usage statistics may be retained for product improvement. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request removal.

Your rights under Singapore PDPA

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (Singapore), you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct any inaccurate personal data; withdraw consent for collection and use of your personal data; request deletion of your personal data. Cookies and local storage

Tarot Energy uses browser localStorage to store your session identifier for guest reading limits and your banner dismissal preference. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Children

Tarot Energy is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of Tarot Energy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
